Role in Project

Novamont is responsible for developing and optimizing PHBV-based formulations for paper coating, 3D printing and extrusion coating applications. Leveraging its expertise in biopolymer formulation and processing, Novamont will adapt the PHBV produced in the project to industrially relevant technologies, validating its performance and processability for the targeted applications.

Organization Description

Novamont is a certified B Corporation and Benefit Corporation, and one of the global leaders in biodegradable and compostable bioplastics and the development of bioproducts and biochemicals derived wholly or partially from renewable, plant-based sources. Over the years, Novamont has industrialised thirteen proprietary technologies, four of which are unique, creating bioplastics and bioproducts through a multidisciplinary approach combining bioplastics, biotechnology, agronomy, organic chemistry and product ecology.
